Eastern Screech Owl
welcome home
I spent quite a bit of time watching this Red fox family in the spring of 2015. On this particular evening mom had returned from a long hunt and the kits were very excited to see her.
Making a splash
This bull moose was crossing the Gros Ventre River with his five cows in mid September. The cows all crossed before him and made very little noise nor did they splash about much in the water. However when this Bull moved into the water he made sure that everyone knew he was there splashing about and putting on a show.
Tree bark dinner
This very cooperative Beaver in the Grand Tetons stopped for a few minutes to munch on this tree branch. He was pulling off strips of bark and munching away on them very contently.
Seeking some shade
This pair of Zebra were seeking shade under an acacia tree on a windy summer day in South Africa.
The quiet before the Dawn
The only two sounds I heard on this morning were the wind blowing and the Great Horned Owls hooting in the valley's below me
Surprise
I did not expect to see bighorn Sheep in the Badlands, and I was taken off guard by these guys. I had to quickly get my gear out and set up before the sheep dashed down into the valley below me.
Eastern Screech owl waking up
keeping an eye on me
I spent about a half hour playing hide and seek with this Raccoon today.

Watching the bee
These two baby Raccoons were very focused on this bee that was trying to enter their nest.
Willow flats Elk
I happened to catch this Bull Elk just moments after the sun had broke the horizon and illuminated the Willow flats area. He was only out for a few moments before slowly moving off into the willows behind him.
One last drink before migration
The youngsters are still hanging around not quite ready to leave for the winter yet.

Getting skunked
I ventured out early one morning with the hopes of getting owls or foxes, but instead was completely skunked.
Using the landscape
As this young red fox grows up it begins to recognize it's vulnerability in the world around it. It began to use the tombstones in it's home to keep an eye out for potential threats.
The glory of motherhood
A mother raccoon gives in to her kits on a warm day and allows them to nurse.
